Universal Health Care is closer to coming to my county

I just heard on the local radio (but can't find any news about it online yet) that our county is closer to having a form of universal health care for all our citizens.

Essentially, the plan will allow residents to go to a health care provider for a very small fee. The alternative is the emergency room.

It is financed by both public money and private nations and mandatory contributions (tax-like levies, but not at all burdensome).

Tis is not a perfect program and it isn't a big program.

But it IS a program. A step forward.

This is what happens when DEMOCRATS get elected in areas formerly governed by Republican - even socially liberal Republicans.
