Tax "credits" instead of real relief
I have heard several proposals mentioned so far, but IF all of these were to actually come to pass they would be as useless as we have now..

here's why

insurance tax credit $6K has been mentioned
child care tax credit $3K has been mentioned

let's stop there.. that's $9K

In OUR family, we have one earner, and his FWH was just upwards of $6500..

after our deductions, we got back $856..

To even have the $9k "credits" benefit us we would have FIRST have to have been able to prove that we spent at least $9k on those costs (we did not)...and only then would the realization kick in, that we had an additional $9k out-of-pocket expense, but we did not pay IN enough to even get it back..

The "tax credit" shell games have to stop..

Only wealthy people benefit from "tax credits"..always have..always will

A better way would be to eliminate all FWH on all incomes less than $75K..and just be done with it.. No fancy tax deductions necessary..

Just tell all the bosses to not withhold any until the employee reached $75,001.00 in payroll..

watch the economy boom then..

1. I've made this argument about "credits" 'til I was blue in the face. Partisans don't want to hear.

2. Tax credits, the RWing solution to everything.
When you point out that tax credits do nothing to help those who are most in need, the unemployed, the poor wage earner, the elderly and the child, who can't earn wages yet, their eyes glaze over in denial.

5. You'll have to explain to me why you think mid-income families shouldn't pay any taxes. Everybody
above the poverty line should contribute to the nation.
