Christopher Hitchens to Andrew Sullivan: “Don’t be such a lesbian”

During an exchange on Tim Russert’s show last weekend about the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Christopher Hitchens mocked his fellow Englishman Andrew Sullivan when he forgets the second point he was trying to make.

SULLIVAN: Two things. One, it’s important to clear up that he {Wright} did not say “The Jews are going to get you” in some conspiratorial, classic anti-Semitic fashion. I think that’s just –

HITCHENS: He {Wright} thinks only Jews are going to object to Farrakhan and {Libyan leader Moammar} Gadhafi. Excuse me?

SULLIVAN: No, he didn’t say “only.”

HITCHENS: No, but –

SULLIVAN: Again, you keep playing with that quote. We’re happy to have it on the record. And now you’ve made me forget my second point, which is –

HITCHENS: Oh, well, don’t be such a lesbian. Get on with it.

At least Sullivan doesn’t seem to take offense to Hitchens’ remark.

Am i the only one who marvels that such otherwise knowlegable characters as these two pukes, plus such as David Horowitz, Allan Dershowitz, michael crichton, dan pipes, david frum, geraldo, and even lorne michaels of sat night live, to name but a few, all suddenly became hideous monstrosities, ala joseph goebbels! What was it drew them away from progressive thinking? In the end, the entire bunch hardly played much of a streetwise role except to REALLY PISS OFF liberal progressives- the reactionarkies were going to reek havoc upon the world whether the neocons like those mentioned helped them or not. Bush sure was ordained, by whoever created him, when you think of it. Just the Jewishness of many of the neocons excludes them from the true glorious god directed future that the 13th tribe (anglo/nordic north european see 'illiminatti'/freemasons and so on, the 'lost tribe' of Israel) sincerely feel they're entitled to. I don't think that he said anything with malice. Besides if anything else Hitchens is incredibly entertaining. He also is by no stretch of the imagination "right wing" as some here have suggested. Other than his views on the Iraq war his views are about as liberal as you can get.
