Hollywood legend Charlton Heston dead at 84
http://www.cnn.com/2008/SHOWBIZ/04/06/heston.dead/index.html?eref=rss_topstories

The Internet Movie Database listed 126 movies and television production credits for Heston, starting in 1941. He rose to fame in the 1950s with starring movie roles including Ben Hur, for which he won an Oscar. He played Moses in the Ten Commandments.

Heston's last acting credit was for playing an elderly Josef Mengele, the Auschwitz Nazi surgeon who performed medical experiments on concentration camp refugees during World War Two in the 2003 movie My Father, Rua Alguem 5555.

Heston was also known for his political activism.

Are his hands cold and dead enough?

2. All I picture is this scene in Bowling for Columbine.
It's my lasting memory.

And not a good one at all.

13. The scene where Heston mildly agrees with the thesis of the entire first half of the movie,
that ethnic tensions contribute to violence in the US? Then Michael "I showed a cartoon about ethnic tensions causing violence 30 minutes ago" Moore walks out in faux outrage?

I prefer to remember him racing chariots and shooting dirty apes. Heston made a lot of awsome films.

10. a windy, over rated actor, but at least he did march with Dr. King
i'll give him props for that. Like Reagan he was a liberal for many years and then something snapped and he got a big gun fetish. He moved hard to the right. My favorite Heston film is the liberal minded "Planet of the Apes." I've never cared for "Ben-Hur" and think Jimmy Stewart should have won the Oscar that year for "Anatomy of a Murder."
