US intelligence says al-Qaeda still wants nuclear bomb
http://feeds.bignewsnetwork.com/?sid=345357

A US intelligence official has said that al- Qaeda was planning to acquire a nuclear weapon to use it and not to simply to build a stockpile.

According to Charles Allen, the Under Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis, al-Qaeda is dynamic and rarely follows a straightforward path.

While speaking to the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, he said that he learnt about Al Qaeda's plans while carrying anti-Taliban operations in Afghanistan during the past few years.

According to Mr Allen: "Our post-9/11 successes against the Taliban in Afghanistan yielded volumes of information that completely changed our view of Al Qaeda's nuclear program. We learned that Al Qaeda wants a weapon to use, not a weapon to sustain and build a stockpile."

I guess we are going to be forced to attack Iran now. At least that'll be the excuse.

Nevermind the Sibel Edmonds case or the fact that people in the US have been selling nuclear secrets on the black market for years, and it has been covered up by the media & politicians of both parties.

The blatant hypocrisy of this country is staggering. I guess it is taken for granted that most of us don't pay a damn bit of attention and just believe the soundbites and superficial reasoning we are fed. And if we don't, meh. We can't do anything.

Nuclear terrorism is a serious issue that needs to be addressed, but I'm assuming (rightly so) that this issue will be used as an excuse for conquering more oil rich countries like Iran while the same people who do that suppress the Sibel Edmonds story.

And North Korea is a bigger threat to WMD proliferation than Iran. But we'll probably ignore them.
