The bear was stuck on the bridge and in danger of falling to it's death. The pictures tell the story.

Just thought we could use something positive.

2. My dear Straight Story!
Oh, that is wonderful!

We humans are capable of such evil...

And then we can turn around, and do something as wonderful as this rescue!

We can always use something postive!

Thank you, sweetie...

4. Why is the bear pulling himself up onto the arch (presumably right after he jumped) on the 16th,
Edited on Sat Mar-22-08 11:34 PM by gristy
when he is sitting on the arch under the bridge on the 15th? How did the cameraman happen to be there at the moment after the bear jumped (when he is seen pulling himself up)? And isn't that arch quite a bit underneath the bridge? How did the bear ever grab hold after jumping off the surface of the bridge?

Certainly don't feel compelled to answer - but I do have to wonder about what I am seeing.

That is one good looking bear!!!

6. Guessing here
People observed the bear and someone with a camera decided to document it, as far as the bear on the arch it might have been trying to climb down and then realized that was not a good idea :)

8. Or maybe it was a reenactment!
They said to the bear - ok we can help you get down, but you have to hang over the edge of the arch again like you said happened yesterday so our guy in the canyon can get a picture. :D

10. I have relatives in NV and follow the Reno news.
This was real, took place on Donner Summit some months back and was well documented (Reno Gazette Journal, for one). Sorry, I don't remember the sequence of pictures.
