College Republicans: Some Kinda Stupid
Big article in the SF Chron this morning about this group of young patriots who are enjoying college life while counterparts in their age group are fighting the war they support.

This quote in particular sent my little head spinning ---

UC Berkeley student Rohit Joy, a Berkeley College Republican who supports McCain, discussed domestic social issues. Joy, publisher of the campus California Patriot, said he recently served on the platform committee for the California Republican Party. The platform, adopted on Feb. 24, supports laws that oppose abortion and define marriage as between a man and a woman.

"I am a Christian, and believe strongly that human life is sacred and needs to be protected," said Joy, 21, a business and economics major. "I also believe in traditional marriage to ensure liberty. (Otherwise), the government is essentially sanctioning relationships that are not in accordance with natural law

She has an odd definition of 'liberty', eh? She must be enjoying her time at Berkeley :)

4. Campus Republicans are among the least evolved species I've run across in my lifetime....
Edited on Sat Mar-22-08 10:32 AM by marmar
..... They're the sponsors of the infamous "Affirmative Action Bake Sales" and "Immigrant Football" games in which the losing team is "deported."

6. DO NOT under-rate these buffoons. They have been up to dirty tricks since the 60s.
And the infamous college Young Repuke list includes the likes of Karl Rove, Jack Abramoff, Scanalan, et.al.

These guys were up to ratf**king Young Dems in the 60s, fixing student elections, etc.,
way back in 68, if not sooner, and have been unrelenting Felonious Arses ever since.

12. Indeed
We'll probably be seeing Rohit's name on the rosters of some Republican officials before long, and he's learning the claptrap well and early. I wonder how launching aggressive wars of conquest squares with his "Christian" respect for life . . . and marriage (whatever in hell his sidetrack there means)?

7. Hey Rohit...I got an idea!
Why don't you go fuck yourself...OK?

This is why I dislike most Christians:

"I am a Christian, and believe strongly that human life is sacred and needs to be protected, I also believe in traditional marriage to ensure liberty. (Otherwise), the government is essentially sanctioning relationships that are not in accordance with natural law"

Every freaking statement regarding your beliefs has to be prefaced by the words "I am a Christian"

Like that automatically negates any other argument because you "are a Christian" so that means that only YOU can be right because after all, YOU "are a Christian"

Hey Rohit, I got two words for you... Fuck you.

Rohit Joy, 21, is a business and economics major.
Great just what we need more of...another Republican business and economics major.

Grrrrr... these assholes make my blood boil.

Engaging these cretins in conversation is enlightening; they know nothing and ignore facts. When you show them to be wrong they shrug it off and try to change the topic. They're pathetic.

13. "I believe in traditional marriage..."
The usual bigoted code for the usual bigoted fear of gays marryin'. A small idea for small minds.

Supporting a war candidate in the name of Christ is just surreal, but again typical of tiny, bigoted minds.
