Ending the war should be the MOST important issue in this election
and so many other issues are drawing attention away from that fact. When one considers the 12 billion dollar a month price tag. If we can this war we could certainly afford better health care, to fully fund the unfunded mandate of No Child Left Behind. We could pay for renewing the nation's infrastructure, address homelessness, rebuild New Orleans and so many other more productive endevours. That's why ending the endless the war should be issue #1. It is keeping us from building a better nation.

5. Fat chance of Congress overriding a veto
They talk tough but chicken out in the end.

2. We could stop being the cause of pain and suffering.
The financial discussion is drawing away from that fact!

4. I agree, pegleg. Ending the occupation of Iraq is #1 but
the * and the M$M wants people to think otherwise!! It's been repeated over and over in the news that Iraq isn't a top issue. :wtf: I think they're trying to convince the American people that that's true but many aren't convinced and they shouldn't fall for it!!
Iraq is bleeding what little is left in the American coffers. There is a direct correlation and people need to wake up to that fact!

Welcome to DU, pegleg! :hi:

6. It should be the main topic but it's not
This is where the money is made by the major corps . I agree we need to end this war now but I do question one thing . Why is it that many of these same issues were not addressed well before this war began .

We had homeless and crap jobs and shit house schools and high HMO insurance costs . Granted not as bad as it is now but there never the less .

Couldn't be reagan could it ?
