U.S. Air Force Has A New Slogan- "ABOVE ALL"

Air Force is 'Above All'

Air Force officials have launched a new ad campaign to accurately portray Airmen and how they're executing the Air Force mission to ensure the security and safety of America now and in the future. Airmen can find more information on the new campaign by logging on to the Air Force Portal. (U.S. Air Force graphic)

Secretary of the Air Force Public Affairs

2/20/2008 - WASHINGTON (AFPN) -- The Air Force has a new advertising campaign to recruit the next generation of Airmen as well as better inform people about the Air Force mission:

"Above All."

"The new slogan is admittedly a bold one," said Col. Michael Caldwell, deputy director of Air Force public affairs, "but so are Airmen." This campaign accurately portrays Airmen and how they're executing the Air Force mission to ensure the security and safety of America now and in the future.

2. I preferred it in the original German:
"Uber Alles."

4. They really missed the chance to reintroduce "Fatherland," didn't they?
Maybe they thought the old word wouldn't fly in these PC times.

I'm waiting for someone to declare Iraq open for settlement under the "Living Room" plan.

"Yes, everything old is new again. I said, everything old is new a-gaaaaaaain."

5. What makes it even creepier is the fact the Air Force has been HEAVILY infiltrated
by radical Christo-fascists.

8. Cyberspace? That caught my eye as well
You'd expect the CIA or NSA to be in charge of "cyberspace".

WTF does the Air Force do in "cyberspace"?

To boldly blog where no man has blogged before?

10. I thought the new logo was weird
but with the new slogan it really gets creepy. The logo only needs a little tweaking and you would have something very similar to the nazi type angular, industrialist icons. The only thing missing on it is the eagle head.

15. Don't trust babelfish - trust a translator (that's me)
Vor allem is more a figure of speech like "primarily" or "in the first place."

This new Air Force slogan fits with Ueber Alles as the Nazis meant it, all the way. And it's coming from the same place of hubris, a feeling of omnipotence and contempt for the world below.

Although "Deutschland ueber alles," the now-banned third refrain of the Deutschlandhymne, predates the Nazis by about 80 years, we should note. The not entirely repulsive idea was that Germany was above all, as opposed to a bunch of microstates that were getting creamed by the rest of Europe.

12. Does the "wings" logo remind anyone of this?

That's the logo of the Nazi Luftwaffe.

13. Not really - the chevron & star imagery the modern USAF logo is imitating dates back to WWII, when
the U.S. Army Air Force was engaged in bloody combat operations against Nazi Germany. It's not a very apposite comparison historically, to say the least.
