1. I'm sure you don't need a Google account

and I'm glad the "old-fashioned" searches are still available (to DU donors) because they can search by time period.

The Google widget seems to work best for finding things you posted recently (just type in your nick and keywords) and for finding the older threads (type nick plus month and date like this: Jan-00-00). In fact, I've been able to find my very first DU post AND very first thread from about two weeks after 9/11!

I've never had their account. It works just fine for me.

Very cool. I've had more success using it than I've had using the DU search function.
