McCain/Pubic Hair 08

n specific, Kristol notes that McCain could use a great running mate.

Perhaps the most obvious way McCain could upend the normal dynamics of this year’s election would be a bold vice presidential choice. He could pick a hawkish and principled Democrat like Joe Lieberman.

He could reach beyond the usual bevy of elected officials by tapping either David Petraeus or Raymond Odierno — the two generals who together, in an amazing demonstration of leadership and competence, turned the war in Iraq around last year. He could persuade the most impressive conservative in American public life, Clarence Thomas, to join the ticket.

1. Actually, I think pubic hair would be far more qualified than McCain to
hold high office.

But I think pubic hair is Democratic.

4. Oh, oh, that would be so PERFECT.
Except it would give Bush a chance to name one more member of the court before he vanishes from history.

6. Running Mate
I don't think McCain would pick a military person as a running mate as he already has those credentials himself. Perhaps an economic or social conservative. Who knows? Hillary or Obama more likely to pick a military type as a running mate. Wesley Clark?

Clarence Thomas doesn't seem the type to want be a politician. He is safe and protected where he is now. Have any SCOTUS justices ever run for high office?
