Do sports fans tend to be right-wingers?
Or is that just XM Radio's thinking?

Every baseball game I listen to on XM is dotted with promos for its Faux Noose channel, which makes me wonder if marketing surveys show that baseball fans, or sports fans in general, prefer Faux over a legitimate news outlet.

XM also carries CNN, CNN Headline News, CNBC, Bloomberg, BBC World Service, C-SPAN, AirAmerica and has a channel called POTUS '08 that's all about the campaigns, but I haven't heard promos for any of those during ball games except POTUS.

1. it's marketing
I know many sports enthusiasts who are liberal, yet the monopolized media would have you think differently. Power of perception is marketed this way.

2. I post on a few boxing boards - I'm a big fan of boxing
For the last few weeks, there have been a lot of posts off topic, on the subject of the upcoming election. I can say that I see very few boxing fans supporting McCain or the Republicans. Most of the posters are Obama supporters but a few support Clinton.

5. I don't think so
As Rush found out, not all the sports fans and writers are conservatives. Even in sports such as the NFL.
