benefit from a Depression?
Will things that are hindering progress for the Upper and Middle Classes mean an egalitarian upswing for those of us who have no real means of support?
Will there be a "freeze" on goods in order to fight inflation? Will those of us who don't have investments, real estate or other such luxuries find a Depression barely noticeable?
Or will we be driven even further into the ground as those at the top economic classes try to get every possible break and screw those in some way beholden to them?
We already know that we're sinking into the mire and muck of greed, lies and genuine deceit, so one has to wonder what we are heading for. We also know that Congress has been unwilling to acknowledge most of it, refusing to prosecute those who are betraying our entire country with their manipulations.
The Depression is not that far away, but in one way, it's a wake-up call for all of us. It shows that the pukes have been more than willing to toss most of us to the wolves instead of acting in good faith, and that they will keep on doing that, sneering at social justice.
I live on a fixed income, so it matters to me how much I end up paying for food, oil, and just about everything else. If prices get too high, I will find that I will make some sacrifices on food, and things that make life even bearable. It will shut down much social interaction because I won't be able to get out more often, and I will find myself more restricted to stay at home.
All other things aside, will I find myself on somewhat more equal footing with those who have been living a more expensive lifestyle? Or will those in my socio-economic class (including myself) be crushed into the ground that much more quickly?
