Perhaps not so many as during the first couple of years following the September 11th attacks (although the idea that the value that people place on civil liberties fluctuates to such an extent is perhaps scarier) but I would seriously bet that perhaps thirty or forty-percent of Americans would agree with the sentiment behind that "Why do I care who's listening to my phone calls?" question. The whole "I've got nothing to hide. Do you?" bullshit argument...
