Prostitution and dry wall
Edited on Thu Mar-13-08 12:40 PM by underpants
Look I hate dry wall. I hate everything assoicated with dry wall from the handling of it to the application. I swore a long time ago, back in my manual labor days, that if I ever needed dry wall services that I would hire someone to do it.

What about marriages in which the same can be said for sex. Not all sex (reversing the analogy-I do paint) just the parts and kinds that one partner has no interest in. Why not hire a pro to do it?

Thoughts?

and can you recommend a good yard service?

4. I assume that your SO would know if the drywall was removed
and replaced.

If both partners know about and agree to hiring 'outside drywall services', its okay.
The problem is that the adulterer doesn't have the approval of his SO.
AND he is exposing his spouse to diseases which may well be life-threatening.

It is NOT the same thing

8. Ooh an excellent point
Plus she would catch on to what "going to Lowes" really meant after a while

Oh you weren't talking about getting some "help" to do it. Never mind.

6. If it were that simple, you may have a point. But it's not.
Men (and yes it's by far mostly men) go to prostitutes for a myriad of reasons, many of which have nothing to do with a failure on the part of their partners to provide them with sex.

7. All work is prostitution
in fact the word work is derived from the word whore. We should work on stopping being so judgemental about the types of work that are done by various people. And work on an attitude of service to humanity that enobles the worker, not turns them into abject slaves. Attutudes toward women and minaroities are at the bottom of this perversion of work into slavery. Humans have a long way to go.

10. Yes because it is just like menial tasks we can hire out
Hiring women to be mere receptacles for our discharges is just fine and dandy.

Women who turn to prostitution did it because the Men in their childhood years treated them with less than dignity.

13. You can argue that point until you're blue in the face
But they'll always come back with the line that there are women who happily choose to do it, based on the testimony of one or two highly paid "happy hookers" they saw on a TV show.

17. Somehow, I don't think the dynamics are so simple.
Anything that involves intimacy and emotion seldom is.

It sounds like Spitzer's cheating was a complete shock to his wife. My thought is that it might have nothing to do with what she did or didn't do sexually.

My theory on these "powerful" men who hire prostitutes: They just want a pretty receptacle. No emotion, no obligation to care about or reciprocate the pleasure. No responsibility.

It's irresponsible and terribly unfair to their wives and families.

18. HAD TO read this
mainly because of the reference to drywall. As it happens, one of our local papers frequently prints long opinion pieces written by a hardcore right-winger who happens to be a professional drywaller; his stuff has become fodder for some lively discourse among those who love to verbally disect kool-aid soaked brains. We're reasonably certain that he isn't among the lurkers on DU, as he'd sooner poke his own eyes out than read anything that differs with his self-avowed infallibility.

21. Sounds like Hannity
Sena Hannty was a houspainter who went spent so much time calling Atlanta talk radio stations to defend Ollie North that he basically went out of business. He did, of course, end up on radio and....well you know the rest.

At least that is how the story goes.

22. Hoot and a half!
Our drywaller frequently cites Hannity as authority.

To be fair, a number of my Democratic friends work in the drywall business. I'm not blaming the gypsum, here!
