US President George Bush says his Venezuelan counterpart, Hugo Chavez, has long been a supporter of terrorism.

At a White House conference, he spoke of Mr Chavez's 'disturbing pattern of provocations'.

Mr Bush has been extremely critical of Venezuela's role in the conflict with Colombia and was referring to Mr Chavez's links with the FARC rebels in Colombia.
