Chart showing Republicans cause recessions and high unemployment.
The chart begins in the fifties. Most deep recessions happened during Republican rule. High unemployment also happens during republican rule.
This will be in my journal for reference. Keep it kicked so other can access it. Down load it so you can put it in e-mails.

1. Every single time.
I wouldn't let a Republican add a lunch check.

2. What I see is a peak after every election
followed by a slow slide to recession, followed by a slide up to another peak just before another election.

Anybody who can look at this and not think the economy is being diddled is a fool.

3. You Mean...
...you didn't know this?

Even Bob Brinker says Republicans are addicted to boom and bust economic cycles. That's what uncontrolled free markets are all about.

10. That's true, but we really need to link our economic woes
to the Iraq war. I know there are other reasons, but the war link is easy to sell. Remember "guns or butter."

5. With one exception...
The 1979-80 recession during Jimmy Carter's term--caused by OPEC raising gas prices, the Iranian Revolution and subsequent taking of hostages at our embassy in Tehran--ALL major recessions of the last 55 years have occurred during Repub administrations. Beginnning with Ike (yes, economically, the Fifties weren't always so fabulous) and continuing with Nixon, Ronnie (the '82 doozie), and of course, the 1990-92 recession under Poppy Bush, Repubs--the party of "fiscal responsibility":eyes: --have been the ones in power in the White House when recessions have occurred. Coincidence? Hardly.

Their only economic "firewall' was their claim that inflation was down and kept in check. But now they're even losing THAT argument. To me, this year, they have absolutely no economic terra firma on which to stand, whatsoever. And that, along with Iraq and McCain's desire for a new "Hundred Years' War", is what's going to purge them from power.

B-)

8. It all comes down to "It's the economy stupid." We need to link the
recession with the war and pound that message hard.
