" McCain Stands By Pastor Who Calls Catholic Church "The Great Whore"
Wow, if McCain keeps alienating people we can surely beat the 2-3 people who will be voting for him. Not that Donohue is any angel when it comes to the bigot department.

“Calling Pastor John Hagee a "bigot," the conservative Catholic League is calling for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., to denounce/renounce/reject his endorsement Wednesday.

With a Youtube link to prove his point, Catholic League president Bill Donohue said Hagee "has waged an unrelenting war against the Catholic Church. For example, he likes calling it 'The Great Whore,' an 'apostate church,' the 'anti-Christ,' and a 'false cult system.' ..."Senator Obama has repudiated the endorsement of Louis Farrakhan, another bigot. McCain should follow suit and retract his embrace of Hagee." ...

McCain spox Jill Hazelbaker says, "Hagee endorsed John McCain. While we welcome his support, it shouldn't be seen as a wholesale endorsement of all of Mr. Hagee's views."

3. I have read he claims to be both Episcopalian and Baptist depending on what group he is speaking to
Whatever floats his boat.

9. Uncalled-for in this thread. Entirely unrelated to the subject at hand.

If you want to trash Dem candidates, go to GDP. You'll have tons of pals there.

6. I think McCain made a big deal out of the Hagee
endorsement before he knew anything about who Hagee is or what he stands for. Some low-level staffer probably told him Hagee is a big evangelical and that his endorsement would boost McCain's standing among the holy roller crowd. He just ends up looking like an opportunistic fool who hasn't done his homework.

8. He seems to be on a roll with the old "before he knew anything about" Hagee/Bill Cunningham
What next will he "know nothing about", I wonder?

11. He seems to have a habit of doing that, doesn't he?
And ends up sucking up to a different group to make nice.

I hope he pisses off a whole slew of conservative Catholics. The man does not belong in the WH.
