For anyone who has deep inside knowledge of the Hill on the Senate side .....
Most days there is parked inside the restricted area near the gestapo ..... er .... guard shack at Delaware and Constitution a beat up gray VW Thing

It is festooned with Repubic and right wing bumper stickers. It has North Carolina plates but has stickers for some of Congress' more vile members, no matter their district or state. There is also a "Bush Girl" sticker on it.

Staffer?

Member?

Asshole?

3. Not a chance
That's an extraordinarily safe area. There are AmerikanGestapo ***everywhere***. The car is parked within twenty feet of one of their guard shacks.

4. I've never noticed it.
I'm always busy counting the 8-10 Capitol Police cars with 2
guys in each, wasting time and blocking traffic.

And the snipers on the rooftops as I drive by.

It always reminds me of Checkpoint Charlie (except for the plywood
walkway) and the snipers who used to guard the Brandeburg Gate.

Creepy.

5. I'm not there everyday, but I've seen it a few times
Yesterday, cold as it was, the top was down (the car looks so ratty that the top may not work). It was in plain sight of at least 20 AmerikunGestapoTroopers. It was literally right at the southeast edge of the Delaware Ave NE Green Zone, right next to Russell

6. I'd love to have one of those Things today
It would make a great sightseeing auto. One of my bro's have 500 or so acres of these oklahoma rocks and hills and it is absolutely beautiful and he and I are both ole vw dudes, it would be perfect to putter around down there in.

9. I thought they were butt ugly back then though. I know where one was setting
I need to check it out, might be able to pick it up for a song, can't never tell. The VW's had a tough little engine but so many thought they could rebuild them themselves and the little pin that holds the center main bearing in place would trip them up most every time. Then a guy like me could come along and buy 'em cheap and have 'em in some cases back on the road that very same day.
