Today Bush will once again push for warentless wiretapping- Here we go again!

At 10 am today the shrub will be giving a press conference- among the issues he'll be pontificating is the need for 'warentless wiretapping'. Why can't Bush's supporters see that their own freedoms may come into jeopardy if we give the government the power to ignore law and go after anyone? What's the next stop- reading our emails? Intercepting our snail mail? Randomly searching our homes or cars?

The government should fear the people-the people shouldn't have to fear the government.
Apparently in Bush world, they consider the biggest threat to freedom- to be freedom!

Give up your civil liberties and worship Jesus- that to them is true freedom.
I can't wait for this nightmare to end.....

as many of them are frightened and gullible as is-fear was a way to get their votes. I have seen a few people on the right suggest Bush is 'guided by the hand of Jesus'. And of course the frightened religious crowd followed Bush lock step...
Plus Republicans do not want the war to end-ever. The bogeyman of the so called 'Islamofascist' is behind evey tree, and god forbid you don't let Bush do whatever he wants, other wise 'the terrorists will attack us!!'

Republicans are fucking cowards, because right wing is all to willing to let the government do whatever it wants....and there ideology is totally based on fear- Fear of Muslims, fear of satan...
And to think the Republicans claim they favor a smaller and less intrusive government.

Can anyone tell me how warentless wiretapping protects freedom? I remember a proto-fascist caller to Sam Seder's radio show offered the assinine rationalization for warentless wiretapping;

'If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to worry about'.

Why is the the right wing Republicans are so contemptuous of civil liberties? Be it their disdain for dissent, or their belief the government should be able to do whatever it wants- I see little evidence right wing Republican ideology 'embraces freedom'.

I hope the Democrats stand up to Bush, and recognize that warentless wiretaps opens up a pandora's box that will lead to unwarranted searches and seizures on all citizens . Remember, Bush once said the Constitution is 'just a goddamn piece of paper'; so he doesn't give a shit if his policies take away freedoms. He and his supporters engage in Orwellian doublespeak, implying the way to protect freedom is by diminishing freedom. The Democrats won the House and Senate because voters were sick of Bush's Bullshit and wanted accountability- Democrats need to fight back and fight hard, and hold Bush accountable for what he has done, and say NO!! when Bush wants to trample our civil liberties. If not, they will screw the voters over.
Of course Republican plant Joe Lieberman will be all over Bush like a groupie...

Every time Bu$h does one of there pressers the House and Senate leadership need to counter, point for point with a healthy dose of truth. They have to start challenging Bu$h face to face in the public eye, force him to either answer up or shut up.
