Wow, a 30 second flip flop...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080225/ap_on_el_pr/mccain_1

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio - John McCain says to win the White House he must convince the country that U.S. policy in Iraq is succeeding. If he can't, he says, "then I lose. I lose."

He quickly backed off that remark.

The likely Republican nominee told reporters: "Let me not put it that stark." On his campaign bus Monday, he said Americans will judge his candidacy on whether they believe he can lead the country on the economy and national security. He said, "Iraq will play a role in their judgment of my ability to handle national security."

"If I may, I'd like to retract 'I'll lose,'" he said.

I think, but people want out. He won't get away with flip flopping on this. He cannot be in charge of this country. That is the bottom line.

3. I wish that were the true but I think he has a much simpler case to make
namely, that he's "tougher" in the WOT than the Dem. If it were about the failure of (and lies leading up to) the war in Iraq then the GOP would have no chance.

No I'm afraid it's all about who's "tougher."
