I saw this and thought, if Bill continues to have right wing shills ramble on without challenging them. He should at least have a left wing shill on to counter them.
He also left unchallenged David Frum's contention that Berlin and the Cuban Missile Crisis were low points of the JFK administration.

Bill usually takes them to task for repeating lies like that.

2. No he doesn't really.

He let this guy ramble on for a couple of minutes. And Bill, while he disagrees, doesn't seem to do his homework and have the facts to counter these guys.
This episode was particularly pathetic. I understand he's just a "comedian" but if he has a political show, he needs it to be a bit more balanced then it's been of late. (partially due to progressives boycotting during the writers strike)

3. I just watched the episode in question.

Maher had two rightwing idealogues on and both of them employed the filibuster as extensively as they could. I wish he would have done more to control that but it all worked out OK.

But I didn't see anything like what you have described.
