With the recommended eight positions to be filled, the Board would be 59% African - American, 38% Caucasian and 3% Asian.

The selection process included recommendations from the Lorraine Civil Rights Museum Community Oversight Committee, the existing Board of Directors and general public, submitted via the Museum’s website.

With eight board vacancies to be filled, the Museum Nominating Committee selected two persons from the Lorraine Civil Rights Museum Community Oversight Committee and the remaining six persons from the Board of Directors Nominating Committee.

Museum President Beverly Robertson said, “We are impressed with the level of talent, community dedication and commitment that these eight individuals bring to this board. We are excited about how we can move forward in the spirit of collaboration and cooperation with all of our board members and the community oversight committee to start addressing specific community needs. The National Civil Rights Museum has always served as a place for the community to initiate dialog, implement programs and initiatives for the entire community. We will continue to serve in this capacity going forward.”
