I think the MSM is discovering it just can't get no satis-traction
They float their candidate destroying balloons with little to no effect lately.

For me personally, when I see talking(fat)heads like Russert or Matthews pontificate about, oh, say plagiarism, I say to myself (and the television), "Right! You're the same asshole(s) who sold Al Gore as a "liar" and who were all Swift-boats all the time with Kerry, while you ignored the MAJOR peccadilloes, faults, lies, swindles and ethical/criminal lapses of the Bush administration." Like I care about what you think or what you think I should think.

I am now almost completely impervious to their "commentary" and watch more for masochistic amusement then for any hope of being informed or enlightened. I notice the polling seems more wrong than right and their attempts to influence the electorate are just being met with a collective nose-thumb.

Am I alone in this? Have the majority of viewers finally recognized the MSM as the inbred mutant remnant it is of what once was television journalism?

1. Two Hours Of Total Mental Masturbation...
I popped on CNN and MSNBC last evening...the polls in Wisconsin were still 2 hours from closing, yet they were going full-tilt with their exit polls and speculation. CNN did 3 hours of "coverage" before that...just rehashing and rehashing...spinning and speculating. They brought in every "expert" around to weigh in...spinning every minutae of data to prove a point.

The game here is the age-old one of build 'em up to knock 'em down. The corporate media is predictable as they always find a "story" in the election and create a narrative they then manipulate. For most candidates its not a very flattering one...Kucinich, Edwards, Clinton, Biden and Gravel supporters can attest to that. But if you become the "darling", then the superlatives flow and the build 'em up game begins.

I see far better political commentary here on DU than I do from the corporate media. People here are far more informed, educated and not compromised by making their living from the very subjects they cover...play nice and get access (or a good seat on the bullshit talk express) or be frozen out and call someone's kid a streetwalker.

It's good to see some of thie crap, since we'll be spending the next 6 months attempting to refute it.

Cheers...

2. What really bothers the corporate propaganda news is they can't control the hearts of Americans.
All Obama has to do is go out and make a speech and suddenly thousands are voting for him. But the corporate media has to constantly drum in their propaganda to get any effect.

One thing the neocon fascists didn't count on was a charismatic liberal who can inspire thousands just by talking.

Hillary, I love and admire you, but the truth must be told.

3. I'm with you
I don't pay any attention to them at all - I won't watch them, either.

5. Finally?
I've known that they were inbred mutant remnants for years.

Please be kind to your brain. Stop watching that tripe! It's only purpose is to confuse you and make advertising dollars. Russert and Matthews and their ilk are not there to inform you, they exist to obfuscate. Please turn off your TV! Don't give them your eyeballs and brainwaves anymore!!!
