"If the teachers had a guns too, there couldn't be any school shootings."
or "One determined armed citizen can stop a spree killer in his tracks."

I am wondering if this is the case. What do statistics show? Is violence really lower in areas with lacks gun laws? Is there a statistically relevant number of cases where "an armed citizen saved the day."?

I mean, I can see how a person who carries a handgun might be able to defend himself during a robbery. But honestly, I think assuming that armed teachers might be able to stop determined school shooters is naive. I am thinking that a determined school shooter who is expecting any kind of resistance would just bring bigger guns, assault rifles etc. (which he can legally purchase with lacks gun laws) . I doubt that a non-trained individual with a handgun could really be of any help, if a group of home trained counter-strike kids with Ak47s busts through the door. If anything, it might just prompt them to try and take out the teachers first.

Armed professional guards in schools on the other hand might help...

3. That's how I feel too
The teachers are way outnumbered. Can they guarantee that no student will steal their gun?

And aren't teachers 75% of the time, women. I know women can handle guns but how many want to?

4. I can't imagine any teacher wearing their gun
while in class or in the gym or lunch room.

Which means that they would have to have some sort of classroom gun locker (if it's not near the teachers, it's useless in a school shooting incident).

That means that the shooters will be able to get their guns at school.

Look at metacafe or you tube for videos on how to pick locks... ALL types of locks... even the barrel locks. The Columbine kids of the world will be more up on that shit than you can imagine.

Even if the teachers wore their weapons... kids would still overpower one teacher and get the gun. Then it would be easy to get the next 4 or 5 guns one at a time.

2. Parents and teachers need to pay attention to the children. Who's getting picked on.
Next, prosecute the shit out of whoever made the gun available. In most cases a length of coated wire rope and a lock is all that's needed.
