It happened last Saturday while I was shooting video of the Code Pink demonstration where they were protesting against Luis Posada Carriles.

Code Pink was on one side of the street and the Cuban exiles were on the other side of the street. I was walking back and forth, shooting video and taking photos, when a group of old men accused me of being a communist because they saw me talking to Code Pink members.

So I told them I had the right to talk to whomever I wanted and they threw a fit. You will see that in this video, towards the end.

1. LOL
Jesus they haven't changed....

I saw a bunch of right wingers beat the crap out of a guy back in the Reagan days for simply doing a thumbs down during a Pro-Reagan rally.

You're a brave man there Carlos.

2. I wish they would deport those fascists back to Cuba.
They shouldn't be forced to endure the pain of living with a 1st Ammendment.

13. I lived in Miami 1999-2003. No offense, but I don't miss it at all.

My office was full of right-wing Cubans - not all as bad as this, but I sure as hell got sick of hearing the rumors that Fidel was dying every 6 months.

The right-wing Cubans are ALL MOUTH. They're middle-aged and comfortable. So what if Fidel dies - are thye going to all jump in speedboats to overthrow Raul then?

Of course not. They'll just sit and bitch about Fidel and keep sending money and shoes and game boys to theire family on the Island.

You do have some balls to go right to Versailles - a wretched hive of scum and villainy. I got my Cuban food at La Carreta or Pollo Tropical. No way I would go in Versailles.

I used to live right by the Japanese restaurant "Mikan" near where Kagoshima way meets Calle Ocho.

Miami is an insane town. No wonder you're raging!

:hi:

6. I've never understood their position.
It seems to me that, if they're really so anti-Castro, the time to do something about it was during the revolution. They could've stood their ground and opposed the guy.

They chose to flee instead, which is certainly fine. But once you do that, you're forfeiting and you really should just shut-up about it.

10. Well, you can't have a population of de Gaulles.
If the French Resistance had been sitting there with him the whole time, that wouldn't have done much good.

Was there any resolution to that issue with the Miami PD?

15. I still haven't gone to trial even though it's been a year
It's beginning to look like they are delaying matters on purpose because they know they're going to lose.
