Why does MSNBC devote so much of it's programming to these shows?

1. It's where the NBC executives will be heading as soon
as they are found guilty of treason against the United States.

2. two things
ratings

cheap

they must be ridiculously profitable; damned if I can understand it, but people must watch. Probably Jerry Springer's audience.

(about them being dirt cheap to produce)...maybe there is a prison conglomerate under GE's control. Synergy?

3. I suspect reporting on what is REALLY happening in Iraq, and in Afghanistan
and in Darfur, and in Kenya.... or digging into why our Democratic elected officials continually neglect to vote on our behalf costs too much in money and corporate allegiance.

I think we ought to complain to Dan Abrams.
It is a waste of prime air time, and caters to the lowest mental denominators. I say this based on snippets I see before I turn off my TV, so it could be a prejudicial statement.

5. Tonight's valentine 's day programming
Sex Bunker

MSNBC Reports: Sex Bunker
Even seasoned police officers were stunned to learn that a mild-mannered widower, who spent years nursing his sick wife, kept an underground dungeon connected to his house.

7. I'm sorry...
...but "Sex Bunker" sounds like the name of some awful band that plays on a bill with 7 other bands at the YWCA.

6. Cheap to run when you know the ratings will be poor.

8. I find these prison shows appalling
They film prisoners like they're animals in a zoo. They aren't there for the cheap 'entertainment' of the middle class, they're serving sentences and this exploitation makes me really uncomfortable. It's like we're being softened up to accept a gulag state.
