4. Didn't Hillary get booed at some event for talking about how great lobbyists are
or something? Other than that (if it is true), I can't think of anything.

9. hu·mor
–noun
1. a comic, absurd, or incongruous quality causing amusement: the humor of a situation.
2. the faculty of perceiving what is amusing or comical: He is completely without humor.
3. an instance of being or attempting to be comical or amusing; something humorous: The humor in his joke eluded the audience.

I guess "being or attempting to be" is the operative phrase.

11. Actually yes.
In 1978 Don Fraser - a truly fine liberal, Congressman in the district Keith Ellison now represents - was the DFL endorsed candidate for the Senate. He was narrowly defeated in the primary by Bob Short - a Minneapolis businessman who stirred up a lot of animosity over abortion and the keeping the Boundery Waters Canoe Area wild (a hot issue that year that pitted the metro area against many of those who live near the BWCA). After the primary, Ted Kennedy came to town for a big rally and later Jimmy Carter did as well. There was a whole lot of booing goin' on at those rallies. A lot of DFLers either skipped voting in the Senate race or voted for the Republican candidate, Dave Durenberger - who was actually a bit more to the left than Short. If we had only known that Bob Short was going to die a couple years later, we might have tolerated him.

14. yes, I believe President Johnson got some catcalls and boos at the '68 convention
in Hubert Humphrey's acceptance speech. According to Teddy White in "The Making of the President '68" Hubert was going thru the list of great democrats.

"the proud tradition of Franklin Roosevelt" Cheers
...and Harry Truman"...cheers
"...and Adlai Stevenson"...cheers
"...and John F. Kennedy"...Cheers

"...and Lyndon Johnson! I truly believe that history will surely record the greatness of his contribution to the people of this land, and tonight to you, Mr. President, I say thank you. Thank youMr. President."

"The hall rocked back and forth with challenging cheers and boos..."
