5. The president doesn't have to give an SOTU just once a year.
They can be given periodically, like if there was another major attack on America.

I think you're implying that Bushie is planning on making himself Prez for Life. I don't think he has it in him to do it; I'd bet he's as sick of being president as many of us are sick of him being president.

7. Only if you think the democratic party isn't under the thumb of the same elites as the GOP.
No democrat or republican will ever get the nomination that doesn't pass muster with the corporate elites.

So no, I don't think the elites will abandon the pretense of "free elections" this year...
