Have you ever seen a “non-doofus” photo of Bush?
In every photo I’ve seen of our Saudi-sword-dancing-Decider, he looks like a nut job. Perhaps it’s just that the camera doesn’t lie.

Many people don’t photograph well. But I’ve never seen anyone who consistently comes across as a screaming asshole when there’s a camera around.

Can anyone post a photo in which he looks, just a little bit, like a member of our species?

5. I agree with you in your reaction to Bush; but cameras always
lie. The television and movie industries are founded upon it.

Reagan and his gang pushed that lie when he was president, using his telegenic strengths to trick the nation.

The lie was particularly pathetic coming from a third-rate actor who knew better.

No, Virginia, the ship that sank in Titanic was not a full scale mock-up of the real one, and nobody actually drowned, despite the lying cameras. And those spaceships in Star Wars really aren't flying around space.

I have seen one or two decent, statesmanlike photographs of George Walker Bush. Cameras lie.

2. When somebody really is a hard-core industrial-strength doofus,
it's hard to get a photograph where he doesn't look like one. It's like photographing a hippopotamus and expecting the final picture to look like an elk.

Bush is even beyond the help of Photoshop.

6. Christ, look at that adoring look on Lieberman's face.
People will say they're in love.

4. No, his eyes are far too close together
and therefore, he always has a bizarre, quizzical look on his face. I'm sometimes shocked by his strange look.

7. The camera adds 10 pounds and 10 IQ Points. He looks even dumber in real life. n/t

9. Here is one where he looks completely non-doofus-y:

Well, nevermind.
