Why do conservatives hate John MCain?
He's Pro War, Antichoice, Anti Gay Rights, pro death penalty, anti healthcare for the poor, Pro Tax Cuts for the rich etc etc. He has an 83 percent lifetime rating from the ACU (in comparison the highest average of a Democratic candidate, Biden, is 14%http://www.conservative.org/archive2/2008potus.asp

For some reason on the conservative talk radio guys and freepers hate him. I never understood. On almost every single issue except for maybe torture John McCain is a pure right winger. He certainer isn't a maverick, but the right wingers hate him. Why?

1. Because he has the unmitigated gaul to oppose them when he thinks they're wrong!
Like campaign finance reform, and some of Shrub's tax cuts! They want a patsy!

6. Oh forgot about Campaign Finance reform
Edited on Fri Jan-25-08 06:18 PM by TheUniverse
But really, is a right winger so stupid to not vote for someone who has an 83 percent ACU rating because of campaign finance reform? And on taxes it seems he is now a hard right winger. If someone agreed with me 83 percent of the time (and the only one I can think of is Kucinich) they would have my vote. So what the hell is wrong with the freepers?

13. It's not the freepers, it's the Pub leaders that HATE HIM.
As I said, they want a patsy. Somebody they can tell what to do and he'd do it. No arguments, no having his own point of view. They're so used to having their own way, they're not going to accept anything else without a BIG FIGHT!

Most Republicans are inherently racist. Don't let them fool you.

8. He has worked with and co-sponsored some bills with Democrats
Along with being more bipartisan and moderate than the average right wing neocon, he believes in global warming and environmentalism more than most Repubs.

10. LOL, CNN had his
mother on claiming she didn't understand why the Reich doesn't seem to like him, then she said the he (McCain) had worked like a dog to get Bu$h elected. I thought damn, that right there is reason enough for them NOT to like him, never mind the rest the crap.

11. Because he occasionally disagrees upon PRINCIPLE, rather than spouting the party line.
He's a relic in the modern Repub party- he agrees with it
because that's the messed-up crap he TRULY BELIEVES, while
the rest of them are just lying crooks reading from the same
script while doing whatever they can to rob the country blind.

Although McCain's "ideals" are sadly misguided, the fact that he
has any ideals at all scares the hell out of the thieving sociopaths
who are currently passing themselves off as "the Republican Party".

12. I couldn't consider him principled.

After looking at his flip flops on ethanol and the confederate flag (which he even admited he was pandering on) He seems as much a politician as the rest. But it appears that 17 percent liberal is too much for the reich wing.

14. He dares to work with opposing parties at times, unlike
the scumbags on the right that want to destroy the Democratic Party.

Is it any wonder that the mentally deficient pukes like Limbaugh, Hannity et al can't stand him?

15. Conservatives in Kansas should hate McCain because
Edited on Fri Jan-25-08 06:41 PM by protect our future
he has said he will close Gitmo and bring the Gitmo residents to Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, which is just a hair outside a major metropolitan area. That major metropolitan area is Kansas City, Missouri, which encompasses Kansas City, Kansas, Overland Park, Kansas, Olathe, Kansas, Lees Summit, Missouri, North Kansas City, Missouri, Independence, Missouri, and other towns.

I guess conservatives in Kansas City, Missouri, if it is possible to find any, should hate McCain also.

Moving the Gitmo residents to the Kansas City area heightens the possibility of a terrorist attack here. The Kansas caucuses are soon approaching, and it would be a good idea if all Kansans -- and Kansas City Missourians -- understood what McCain wishes to do to us.

16. He defied Bush on the tax cuts and torture
And therefore, he was labeled a "renegade".

Of course, he relented later. But that never made the news.
