I think Romney was coached on Russert's Questions before the Debate...
Edited on Fri Jan-25-08 04:25 PM by Junkdrawer
The REAL scandal of the Romney whisper is that Romney knew the thrust of the question BEFORE Russert could finish it.

Transcript:

Russert: Governor Romney, you're a big fan of Ronald Reagan. Will you do for Social Security what Ronald Reagan did in 1983?

(Whisper): raised taxes

Romney: I'm not gonna raise taxes. What I'm gonna do...

Russert: Well Ronald Reagan raised the payroll tax and he raised the retirement age...

Romney: I'm not gonna raise taxes

2. Romney's people swear it was someone prompting Russert.
MSNBC is now trying to pretend it never happened. In fact, they scrubbed their website.

3. Keep these posts kicked.
This is the story of this election. The whisper, the press fixing the election. The American people are not being given the opportunity to hear from the candidates equally. Among the Democrats, Hillary and Obama, the two candidates most sympathetic to the corporatocracy and the status quo have received a boost from the press.

9. I think the only reason Ron Paul is still in the debates
Edited on Fri Jan-25-08 05:01 PM by kerstin
is because his numbers are higher than Giuliani's.

I believe Giuliani was the establishment's first choice and they could hardly exclude Paul and justify Giuliani's continuing presence. (Of course Fox did, but their "bias" is an open joke.)

Now that the the military-industrial-media complex can't believably fix the election for Giuliani, it seems Romney is their top guy.

I agree we need to keep the story visible. And it needs to be called for what it is -- media collusion. Their actions go far beyond bias.

11. Assuming we survive it and he doesn't (the looooong week),
what are the odds Rudy gets slipped in the back door as VP candidate (ala Nixon, Bush I, and Gerald "Warren Commission" Ford)?

13. Similar event in 2002 when he moderated the debate for Florida's governor
JEBtm Bush had been handed the video-taped questions from voters in advance.
