The rebate is a sick, and twisted joke on the poor!
Edited on Fri Jan-25-08 01:35 PM by Patmccccc
I know I am beating a dead horse on this but I just feel it is soooo important that they get the message from us that we DON'T want another sneeky loan sold to us as free money, like the one forced on us in 2001, and that we didn't find out about till 2003 (my wife was soooooo pissed off!!!!!) This especially hurts the poor. Someone should do a poll.

1. And what's up with not extending unemployment benefits?
They used to always do that in a recession.

3. Look, This Break Isn't About Helping the Poor
This is about bailing out the top 10%

6. Yup. The "investor class" wants socialism to bail out their failures.
Socialize the costs - privatize the profits. It's called "externalizaton" and it's as old as supermarkets - where the customer becomes a laborer. Pollution is the result of "externalizing" the costs of pollution controls - an 'avoidable' expense (as long as the costs are borne by the hoi polloi).

5. Repub Boost?
Remember how the 2001 "rebates" were presented as a free political ad for Shrub? I was outraged. The text with the check read something like, "President George W. Bush and the Internal Revenue Service are Pleased to Bring You Tax Relief!" Something like that.

The timing is questionable, too -- stretching from "some time in May" into the fall. . . and elections.

9. We should all send our rebate checks to Moveon.com
This proposed rebate is so paltry and meaningless that it amounts to nothing but a symbol of our government's ineptitude, ignorance, and indifference.

So why don't we turn their symbol into one of our own by sending our little rebates checks to Moveon -- the one place I know where Democrats still fight -- as a symbol of how fucking fed up we are with thieving Republicans and cowardly Democrats.
