Preventing TELCO IMMUNITY tabled!
Since this story didn't appear on here or the media(TV), to my knowledge, I thought I might post the info here. Sen Leahy sponsored a FISA amendment bill(2248)which did NOT have TELCO IMMUNITY as a provision. So, with the help of many of our Democratic enablers, the bill was tabled by a vote of 60-36. I find this very important to all of us here who wonder if we have 'corporate whores' representing us, and don't see where the difference is, and what the consequences are. Obama and Clinton couldn't make it for the vote. I guess since the DLC doesn't favor it, it's not important.

1. Bout all we can do at this point is
call our senators and tell them to get out of the Telco pocket or we walk away from them next primary and election when they're going for reelection.

2. Obama's and Clinton's presence did not matter
There were 60 votes to table (or kill) it. The leaders likely knew the counts and this is not close - they needed only 50 votes to table it. (Had it been closer - McCain and Graham would have come back, but there would still have been no need on this vote for the Democrats to do so.)
