Why the Center for Public Integrity study matters
Yesterday we got the report from the Center for Public Integrity that told us what most DUers have known since 2002. Namely, the Iraq war was built on lies that swayed public opinion. When I first heard this, I blew it off. "Tell me something I didn't already know" was my reaction. Though I would have like to have seen this come out a few years ago before George Bush was politically irrelevant it still has implications in this election. Anyone who is still clinging to the idea that going to war was a good idea should have this report slapped in front of their face in every debate. We've all been duped for many years by this war and we should never just assume that since everyone in DU knows that that we should let the issue drop. If we use this correctly it can totally hammer home the point that the war was a bad idea and voting people in office who thought that the war was smart is also a bad idea.
