45. No doubt about that. They're all DLC members,
so of course they're faux democrats. :puke:

This is why the DLC is dangerous. For all their claims of supposedly wanting to help Democrats, they employ people like Marshall Wittman who specifically try to undermine the Democratic Party, even if it means he has to publicly defecate out the most rank and easily-debunkable lies. They reguarly give credence to the right wing's agenda and its worst, most unsupportable lies. They are the real force that tries to make sure this country is a one party state and that Democrats never really challenge the Republicans in a serious way. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/david-sirota/why-the-dlc-is-so-dangero_b_13640.html

62. They voted to kill the Judiciary version of FISA, which was the version
that did not grant telecom immunity, and made some other changes to FISA. Now that that's tabled, or killed, they'll start debating the Intelligence version of FISA, which HAS immunity. However, Chris Dodd will offer an amendment to strip immunity from the bill, which means that it's possible the Intel version will pass without immunity. But since we have turncoat Dems who want to keep that telecom money flowing in to their campaign coffers, it's doubtful the Dodd amendment will pass with 60 votes.

Does this mean the next Dem Pres and Congress can legally SPY on all things Bush, Cheney & cronies do when they're out of office? We can ALWAYS know where to find any one of them when the Hague goes looking someday?
THat is the only good thing that may come of this.

79. No, not yet.
All they did was table the bill that had no retroactive immunity. The other one is being debated now (with retroactive immunity). It will probably pass based on the way the votes went, but it hasn't been voted on yet.

as to whether or not he can successfuly filibuster. Fisa expires 2/1, they can do a short term extension of the orig fisa if things get out of hand. Or they can stay in the Senate over the weekend and wait out the filibuster. It's not over yet.
