1. It's universal insurance, not care.
There's a difference.

5. Yeah--many of us have insurance, but we can't get care when we need it.
There's always an excuse. It's disgusting. :banghead:

10. She's talking it, not proposing it.
There's a difference.

13. If you listen, she was pretty much proposing it.
exact words: "If you don't start out trying to get Universal Health Care, we know and our members of congress know you'll never get there. If a Democrat doesn't stand for universal healthcare that includes every single American you can see the consequences of what that will mean. I think that it's imperative that we have plans, as both John and I do, that from the very beginning say that, "You know what, everybody's got to be covered." There's only three ways of doing it. You can have a single payer system, you can require employers or you can have individual responsibility.

My plan includes employers and individual responsibility while maintaining Medicare and Medicaid."

Geez, sounds like exactly what we have now.

2. Everyone is Forced to Pay for Private Health care
and those who cannot afford to will be subsidized by the tax payers. So, in essence, we pay for public and private at the same time. A two-for-one... and the same middle man over-charging bureaucracy, private health care rakes in the cash. Disgusting.

4. My problem with Hillary is that she doesn't deal with the substance of Obama's criticism.
If you mandate that the poorest of the poor buy insurance they can't afford, or pay a fine, many of them will be forced to risk the fine. And then, when they get hospitalized? They'll have to pay the fine, and they STILL can't afford health insurance. How does mandating that the poorest of the poor MUST BUY PRIVATE HEALTH CARE INSURANCE or be penalized solve the problem? In my mind, it doesn't.

6. way cheaper than paying for ER visits for the uninsured
and way better than waiting in line for an hour at the ER with cardiac arrest b/c the uninsured are using it for primary care at top $$ and likely at your taxpayer expense

11. Sounds like a 'voucher' system to me
Because you KNOW the employer will get MORE than re-imbursed for their employee insurance costs.

Another taxpayer-funded gift for insurers AND corporations.
