Who is your perfect choice for president?
Go back through American (only) history. Imagine, if your choice is no longer among us, that you have the ability to bring back anyone you wish.

Who is your ideal American President? (must be a real person)

5. FDR
Or Kennedy. Jefferson was pretty good, except for the whole slavery thing. And Washington of course. Lincoln too.

*sigh* All these great men, and look what America has to offer now....

13. Meriwether Lewis.
Lewis was very possibly not a well man on the return trip to Washington and met a sad end along the Natchez Trail, but nevertheless, he was a man of some ability and vision.

I would strongly consider bringing him back in time for the presidency.

Would that he had lived longer than he did, and happier, in any case.

14. That's tough.
I don't know if there is any "perfect" choice, but there were many good choices, most of whom never even ran for president.

Historically? How about Ben Franklin? There's a multi-talented man, to be sure.

Barbara Jordan.

Ann Richards.

Clara Fraser

RFK

Paul Wellstone

Jimmy Carter

George McGovern

Just the first few that popped into my head.

For 2008?

Dennis Kucinich
Barbara Boxer
Barbara Lee
Cynthia McKinney
Bernie Sanders

16. I can't because i am a narcissist and i would have to pick.. ME
No such thing as "Ideal" candidate. An ideal candidate would have to agree with 100% of my issues and concerns. No one can do that except me.

Seems he got off to a good start. I'm no historian tho' so -- could be somethin' there I wouldn't like.

OR, FDR. Yeah. Definitely FDR. Or Teddy. Someone with some balls.
