Poll question: Will America EVER have fair elections again ?
Will America ever be able to get past all the ways to commit voter fraud and have fair and precise elections again ?

1. What do you mean ... again?
There's always been some sort of hanky panky in USA elections.

2. No.
The media will continue to narrow it down to a couple of choices that they like. And we'll get to choose between these pundit-approved windbags.

4. Three steps toward Democracy
1) Destroy all the machines.

2) Abolish the DLC.

3) Public financing of elections.

That won't solve all the problems, but will certainly allow us to have some REAL candidates again.

6. Yes, we will. Because election reform activists are the most dogged
committed guys I've ever met.

You bet we will.

The alternative is just unacceptable.

7. It depends on what the price is and who's paying for them.
Fair elections = oxymoron.

9. Never have//never will
There is too much "thinking" going on.

5th graders need to be put in charge of our elections.

Adults always seem to mess it up.

The secret is to make the individual precincts SMALLER, and to have nationally-held office ballots split off from the other stuff..

If the animal control officer election in Pacoima, CA goes awry, people in New Mexico have nothing to fear, but the votes of congresspeople and senators DO impact people in other states, so those races should all be pristine and easy to count & re-count.

There are enough unemployed people EVERYWHERE, to hire for a few weeks prior to and following an election. We always know exactly when the election will happen, and with smaller precincts, it should be NO problem to count some cards at the end of the election day, tally the votes in full view of anyone who wants to watch, call them in, upload them to the internet, secure the ballots, and that's IT.

Every precinct has a list of all their registered voters..they identify and sign people in and give them a ballot card with the 1, 2 or 3 races they will vote on, give them a sharpie pen..and then collect the ballots in a locked box..

How hard is that?

after the polls close:

1. they count the number of ballots handed out
2. they count the actual ballots (these totals MUST match)
3. they count the votes per candidate
4. the combined totals must equal 1 & 2.
