Let me tell you a bit about Boosh's legacy

My son is nine and in 3rd grade. I try not to talk about political stuff too much with him because his mom thinks it's not appropriate (she's apolitical).

As I'm getting him ready for bed he asks me "who are you going to vote for, my favorite is John Adams". I said "you mean John Edwards". "Oh yeah, John Edwards". "why do you like him", I asked. He didn't really know except for a notion that he liked the way he talked. He then went on to explain that his preference, which was the same order as mine(great kid!). I went on tell him that I'm glad he's a Democrat. He said "yeah, at least it won't be George Bush in a year". I asked him how became aware of that and he told me.

"Our teacher told us in class that in one year George Bush won't be president anymore and all the kids started clapping".

this was in a suburban mall in 1981- the people were middle class, in expensive pub, near airport, mostly wearing suits and fashionable dress, iow hardly the poor or underclass, but they reacted to news on tv with clapping and cheers, which were guiltily hushed almost immediately. The 'big lie' is most blatant in denying that the average citizen, no matter his/her status, tend toward the left politically (and for kids this even moreso- rightwing children like 'cartman' or alex keaton are lord-of-the-fleas fictional, created by reactionarkies for the most part; kids know instinctively that the common good isn't to be sneered at, cuz they depend upon it, even if the family is rich)
bush legacy probably premised on the nrtion that the 'winners dictate history' and just like oswald was lone gunman, though he was in fact an acting government agent, the fiction needs little work to be maintained- the reactionarkies figger in the future they name stuff after the furor, and anyone don't like it can just go to hell...
