Rudy's Florida 'strategery' is going right down the crapper.

He shows up hours late for appointed campaign stops which pisses people off.

And the only people he can get to show up are people like Katherine Harris,

and then Rudy has to disavow having any knowledge of her.

At a recent stop, Giuliani was joined by former Congresswoman and controversial Bush-recount figure Katherine Harris. Harris is a pariah within the Florida Republican Party and her appearance did not go over well. Giuliani's office was forced to insist that the event had not been coordinated and that Harris was not involved with the campaign.

Days before, a scheduled Giuliani event was delayed, moved, and delayed again after a bomb threat was called into the Melbourne airport. Around the same time, Giuliani showed up two hours late to an event at an ice-cream shop in Lakeland, prompting the 100 or so supporters to complain and, ultimately, leave before the former mayor's arrival. And throughout his time in the state, Giuliani has been heckled and harassed by anti-abortion protesters, sometimes carrying bullhorns.

1. I fully expect Rudy to soon take a day off for "health reasons"
and then announce that he is dropping out of the race for health reasons and so he can spend more time with his family.

5. Isn't that just like Rudy ...
... demonstrating for all to see exactly how quick-on-his-feet he is at all times, not to mention being prepared to meet any unforeseen emergency situation?

I feel safer already ...

12. Sandbagging his way to the Florida Primary = dumbest strategy ever.
At least Mitt's plan to win Iowa/NH was sound, they just didn't like what he was selling, is all.

A colleague who's a FOX News watching Northeasterner, and, apparently a Rudy Fan, came up to me the other day and asked me with concern when Rudy was actually going to start campaigning.

I told him that absent a specific issue like a popular politician from IA or New England being a prohibitive favorite in IA/NH (like Harkin and Tsongas), I couldn't think of any reason for a front runner to avoid campaigning seriously in those states, especially a relatively well supported and funded one like Rudy, and him NOT campaigning there indicated a serious flaw in the candidate and his candidacy, and that perhaps they KNOW that people just won't like him or vote for him, but he would have those same problems anywhere.

Rudy is polling behind McCain in NEW JERSEY fer chrissakes. He's beyond done.

http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2008/01/mccain_erases_giuliani_lead_in.html

New Jersey
MONMOUTH
1/9-13
McCain 29%
Giuliani 25%
Huckabee 11%
Romney 9%
Paul 5%
Thompson 5%

How FOX and all these people could ever think that a guy whose own kids apparently won't talk to him would make a decent candidate is beyond me. Constantly invoking "9/11" does not a plausible presidential candidacy make, and it's a joke at this point, even Rudy I think knows that and is trying to say "9/11" a bit less now.

For what it's worth, my colleague thinks Rudy is the only Republican candidate who has a chance. I didn't comment or respond to that, LOL.

14. His confidence re Florida is disquieting
He acts like it's in the bag, yet is polling single digits.
If he wins Florida you'll know it was the Bush machine who did the heavy lifting and vote stealin'

 :hi:

Rudy has stretched his line of BS so far that it is getting too weak to work any more.
