New Hampshire Recount Starts Tomorrow 9:30
Democrat Dennis Kucinich has paid $67,000 to Gardner's office to start the recount. Kucinich, who received less than 2 percent of the vote, said he is suspicious of the results, although he doesn't expect a recount to change his vote count much.

Kucinich has asked that the recount start with Manchester ballots and spread out from there to other Hillsborough County precincts.

The recount will begin with Manchester. State police will pick up sealed ballot boxes from Manchester's precincts Wednesday morning and then bring them to the state archives building.

Gardner said he expects the recount to begin Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.

2. "Election integrity is one of those issues that is so important," Kucinich stated.

"Election integrity is one of those issues that is so important," Kucinich stated.

Though for all of the Republican candidates and the bottom tier Democratic candidates the election outcome matched polling figures, the pollsters were wrong about the outcomes for the two top candidates, Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

There was a 16-point swing between the pre-election polls and the actual outcomes. Kucinich said. And according to analysis circulating in the blogosphere, precincts with electronic balloting gave a slight edge to Clinton, while precincts with hand-counted paper ballots went slightly for Obama.

"I am not drawing any conclusions," Kucinich said. "I just want to make sure it all figures."

4. you can start at www.bradblog.com

:

Analysts at the Election Defense Alliance (EDA) have confirmed that based on the official results on the New Hampshire Secretary of state web site, there is a remarkable relationship between Obama and Clinton votes, when you look at votes tabulated by op-scan v. votes tabulated by hand:

Clinton Optical scan 91,717 52.95%
Obama Optical scan 81,495 47.05%

Clinton Hand-counted 20,889 47.05%
Obama Hand-counted 23,509 52.95%

The percentages appear to be swapped. That seems highly unusual, to say the least.

7. ??!!
The recounts could take weeks, as state workers travel across the state to retrieve ballots and bring them to Concord. Nearly 240,000 ballots were cast in the Republican primary, while more than 285,000 were cast in the Democratic contest. The Democratic tally will commence at 9:30 a.m. in the building that houses the state Division of Archives and Records Management.

"It's impossible to know at the beginning how long it's going to take because of the potential challenges and protests," Gardner said.

8. It looks like it's only a partial recount-Kucinich doesn't have enough $$
A hand recount of last week's Democratic primary votes will begin this morning, after presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich met a deadline to pay for a second tally, said Secretary of State Bill Gardner.

But the recount will be a truncated one: Kucinich forked over $27,000, less than half of the $69,600 the secretary of state's office estimated a hand tally of all the Democratic votes would cost. As a result, ballot-counters will begin with Hillsborough and Rockingham counties, the two portions of the state Kucinich is most interested in, Gardner said.

10. Hmmm, interesting
Well, at least the two most Hillary-tilted and machine-counted counties will get counted. I'm looking forward to see the results.

15. Still, even a random sampling in the precincts of the most concern would be helpful.
The good news (and important news) is that New Hampshire has paper trails.

11. Where are the people who said he would NEVER actually PAY
for the recount? Who said he was just grandstanding, just looking for the publicity? Time for an apology.

Or your new explanation, whatever.

12. He is
He is just looking for the things you listed.

I guess this will make some people feel good. Little else IMO.

If something really shocking turns up I'd be very surprised.

*sigh*...gotta get to work.

13. At the very least he is proving he will stand for election integrity
As it is now, the could very well steal the 2008 election and the Dem candidate will just do nothing... again...

16. The only thing I am worried about is that in the GE,
people might be sick of the election recounts thanks to this and not want to do one.

We'll see...
