The Nevada Supreme Court has just announced that it will be holding a half-hour hearing, beginning at 4:30 p.m. Eastern time, for the lawyers of Mr. Kucinich and NBC to present oral arguments in the ongoing battle over whether or not Mr. Kucinich will be allowed to participate in tonight's debate on MSNBC

2. What's the latest -- as it stands now, I'm assuming he's OUT (again) and that's
why his lawyers are presenting arguments...

The last I heard, the court said he was to be included -- what did I miss? Thanks.

6. NBC filed appeal to Nevada State Supreme Court...
this morning. I think Kucinich then filed for an emergency hearing for today. There are other threads on this that have more detail. Anyway, we should know something later this afternoon.

4. I cannot believe that NBC is taking it to this extent
All it's doing is making them look worse. It's mind boggling.

17. Agreed, this is over the top -- the county district judge even framed it

as a matter of public interest - that in fairness to NV voters, they should hear more than Clinton, Obama and Edwards. I absolutely agree.

I suppose the only reason they don't care if it makes them look worse? They have enough corporate power not to have to care.

13. what are you talking about?
if you had a case where immediate and irrevocable harm could occur today, you can be certain that a court will hear your case today.

19. Oh, that's rich. NBC "suffering irrevocable harm" by including Kucinich in the
debate.

Yeah, he might call them on their frigging war profiteering. They really cannot take scrutiny on that, "Please, Mr. Judge, please, this bad leftie's gonna hurt us with his words! Save us! Save us! And here's that cushy little something we promised, a little down payment...if you will just please, PLEASE save us from Dennis Kucinich, who is going to ruin our whole business, Yer Honor...IRREVOCABLY... that means TOTALLY...we will never recover, NEVER. He might say...ugh, PEACE! We can't stand it! It will destroy us! We will melt! And then where will YOU be, and your yacht and all! He doesn't just threaten us with total and irrevocable ruination, he threatens WESTERN CIVILIZATION! Sailing! Hot babes! La Dolce Vita! Think what it will mean if he says 'Corporate Rulers'! Our viewers might stop buying the crap we sell! They might find out about....(in a whisper)...corporate welfare! (screeching) Oh, horrors, oh, Mr. Judge, don't let anyone SAY that on TELEVISION, it could ruin us all!"

Har-har! I'd like to read that pleading.

the debate is tonight, and the lower court issued an injunction prohibiting MSNBC from airing it.

15. This is downright shameful! WTF is it to NBC if Dennis is in this debate?
I hope he wins Michigan and embarrasses the hell out of them. fuckers. AND....where the hell are our other 3 Democrats? Why aren't they coming to Dennis' defense? They should be fighting for him to be included in this debate. What do they fear? The TRUTH? This is pure crap.

16. Thanks for the update and this could be a nice set up if they
allow Dennis in the debate. First Wexler before the debate and then Dennis could mention the increased calls for accountability and impeachment by Wexler.

"Rep. Wexler: Update - This Evening On House Floor I Am Reasserting Call For Cheney Impeachment

This evening, I am taking the floor of the House of Representatives to strongly reassert my call for hearings on the Articles of Impeachment of Vice President Cheney previously introduced by Dennis Kucinich.

Please watch it on CSPAN – I should be taking the floor tonight after the last vote, between 7-9PM Eastern.

Wexler For Congress Campaign's diary :: ::
Tomorrow, I will deliver a letter to my colleagues on the Judiciary Committee, encouraging them to sign on to a letter in support of Cheney impeachment hearings to Chairman Conyers.

This is a critical point in the impeachment movement. Congress is very much aware of what we’re doing – thanks in part to your letters and calls – but there is much work to be done.

We must enforce the outstanding subpoenas and begin to question key witnesses. Impeachment will break through Executive Privilege and allow us to cut through the diversions and obstruction that has occurred these last months."
