Oh My God. That's horrible. As most of you know, his first wife and child were killed in a car crash years ago.

According to police Senator Joe Biden's wife was involved in a car accident on I-95 Tuesday morning.

Biden's wife was treated for minor injuries and released. She is now recovering at home.

Sen. Biden's wife involved in I-95 crash

Delaware Sen. Joe Biden's wife Jill was involved in an accident on I-95 this morning, authorities said.

Police did not immediately release any details on the crash, but reportedly she was not seriously injured.

A spokesman for the senator's office declined to comment on "private family matters."

The accident happened about 9:45 a.m. in the southbound lanes near the Del. 141 interchange and closed the two right-hand lanes and caused delays, the Delaware Department of Transportation said earlier today.
