1150 LA radio
Does anyone know what's up with the afternoon hosts? They seem to have a grab bag with a different talking head on every other day.

1. Seems Mark "Mr. K (formerly Mr. KABC)" Germaine is gone.
Yesterday, is was Tom Oliphant and my girlfriend (yeah, that's the ticket), Morgan Fairchild. Not a bad show.

2. They got rid of Germaine? Cool, now I can listen again.
Is that true?

3. He hasn't been on since Jan 1st
But they don't seem to have a set replacement. So it's clear it wasn't a planned exit.

5. More Cheap Channel Woes
Sounds like another abrupt "budget cut" to trim payroll and expenses. A good friend works inside a CC operation and was suprised right before Xmas with a corporate wish list of cuts...the excuse given was that the expected bail-out by Bain hadn't/won't come through for another 6 months and further cuts would be needed. Sounds similar to the ABC/Citadel mess that ran on for over a year and a half.

At least you have live local programming...I'm in the third largest market in the country and our local AAR affiliate has no local programming.

4. I hope they put a late rebroadcast of Randi Rhodes back on
Then I'd have Stephanie Miller on the ride to work and Randi on the ride home, the way it was before Germaine. Never really got to like him, and lots of times it seems he just wanted to play Devil's advocate (poorly), and got eviscerated by his producer, Lisa.

6. Germaine's show was simply
weak. Neither he or Lisa brought much to the table. I think they were suppose to be more broad based and local. But the Green hour was about the only part of the show worth listening too.

I wish they'd just let Johnny Wendell have that spot. I love his angry man punk rock attitude and he's able to mix actual interesting LA news into his show.
