Poll question: Are Americans any less dumb than they were in 00 and 04 when Bush won?
Yeah, I know ...... he didn't actually win. No matter. He's there and we're not because he at least got close enough to steal it.

I suppose one can argue that the country didn't know him in 00. Weak .... but it *can* be argued.

In 04 ..... no excuses. It was mass stupidity.

Are we, as a nation, now that we wear the scars of unfettered Republicanism, are we any less stupid?

2. Here is an example of the approx. 30% of stupid people out there....
When my friend asked her Christian Fundie Mom recently how she felt at this point about her voting twice for Bush, she said, "Well, he is doing the best he can". Oh. My. God.

4. Most are so dumb they need a minder to cross the road.
And it's getting worse.

Automatic transmissions in cars, cell phones and talk radio are partly to blame.

5. Other, a LOT of people have caught on, and I expect turnout this year to be REALLY high
Both primaries this year showed 200% turnout. Just watch, I'd expect easilly 30% more Americans will vote this year compared to 2004.

7. Our Dem Party USED they ACTIVISTS who were Angry over Stolen Election 2000
and then when we couldn't get them re-elected in 2002 (Mid-Terms) and the "Dean Revolution" in '04 and "then minor results in '06" they THREW US UNDER THE BUS...and rode us OVER with TIRE TRACKS!

They DON'T GIVE SHIT ABOUT THEIR ACTIVISTS! They don't CARE ABOUT CRASS ROOTS...beyond "lip service."

The REAL MONEY...comes from "K-Street Lobbyists and BIG TIME INTEREST GROUPS...and until "Act Blue" gets enough BIG BUCKS to INFLUENCE ELECTIONS...we will ALWAYS BE GIVEN "LIP SERVICE" but "THROWN UNDER THE BUS" when the Elections Occur.

Long Time Dem Voter Here...speaking from my heart...since Jack Kennedy...my first newbie vote...

8. Hopefully I'm wrong, but I think we are "other".
I think we are even more stupid and selfish, but that we might vote the right way by accident because we are selfish and view the economy as the major issue.

So: Stupid and selfish by accident, would be my answer.

9. From what I can tell, Americans have gotten even dumber
lack of critical thinking and acceptance of outright falsehoods and talking points is epidemic.

The whole deal seems- this year more than any other I remember amounts to "rah, rah -go team, go" without a lick of understanding or analysis of major policies.

It's American Idol -and my prediction is the country's going to suffer for it- as perhaps it should.

10. With nearly 8 years of mostly Reality Shows and an ineffective MSM
being sucked up endlessly and greedily by the country of overeating, non-reading couch potatoes - yes, things are worse and destined to only go downhill from here!
