Don't be talked down from participating in the back and forth over the issues within and without the presidential campaign. Even the trivial stuff -- as well as the seemingly divisive conversation -- is an improvement over the general silence on these issues that's the norm in the off-season. I really do think that most folks (especially here) are smart and capable enough to set things right when confronted with an argument or declaration about or from one of the candidates. The discussions can be illuminating and revealing, even amidst the squabbles and venom. We shouldn't put ourselves in the position of trying to limit debate, just because we think it might be 'divisive' or 'counterproductive.' If anything, it beats silence.
