4. The people on the Gulf Coast probably disagree.
These people can't keep us safe from weather let alone terrorists.

And, what about those people who died from Anthrax? They don't count?

7. I ask them to re-phrase it so they come right out and say--"Nothing since 9/11."
And then I shut them up real quick-like when I bring up the forgotten, unsolved anthrax attacks. You know, the attacks that were genuinely, universally scary, because they really could happen to any of us, as opposed to the 9/11 attack which--horrifying, and deadly as it was, focused on a population center, and thus were less scary to those living away from the city.

The anthrax attack had everyone worried about opening mail, drinking water from the tap, basically doing anything that might bring you into contact with a pathogen. The Bush Adminstration's answer was to...

Well, I guess they've dropped it. I can't find any current news accounts of ongoing investigations.

10. The frame "We haven't been hit since 9/11" lets Junior off the hook
for ignoring the threat level while he and Deadeye Dick were planning to sack Iraq.

The right answer might be, "9/11 wasn't enough? Who was president on that day?"

19. Ask these geniuses who they blame for Waco
Virtually every RW wackjob hates Clinton and his AG Janet Reno for snuffing out the poor, innocent worshippers at the Koresh compound.

But that fiasco (and I'll admit it was a fiasco, albeit one with many authors) had been an ongoing mission of the GHWBush administration, and happened only three months into the Clinton administration.

I don't ever hear Democrats claiming that Bush was responsible for Waco. I ALWAYS hear the GOPee faithful blaming Clinton for 9/11.

However, I don't watch the talking heads bastards that litter cable T.V. and I don't watch the evening network corporate T.V. so that helps. :argh:

12. We've Been Hitting Ourselves...
I always have fun with flying monkeys who screetch this meme. It's hard to figure out where to start...but usually they throw out some talking point that is smashed back in their pieholes.

The basic argument is that Al Queda doesn't need to attack us here, they've doubled their 9/11 total now with our losses in the Iraq mess. There's no need to bleed us here, when each day another casket returns to another town across this country and the loss is spread farther and wider than any single bombing attack could provide. And it's a hell of a lot cheaper, too...considering how companies like Blackwater and our own Pentagon have supplied a lot of the weapons being used against our troops.

And, of course, I ask, so do you think we're not going to get attacked? The flying monkeys almost always go postal...screetching Jack Bower scenarios and how any A-rab or Mexican is out to get us. At that point I point to the chickenshit's shadow and yell "boo" an see how close to the ceiling I can send 'em.

Cheers...

16. I ask them if they remember the forty years of Democratic rule.
You know the ones where America was safe and secure and had a very positive image abroad..We have had Republican rule now for a little over a Decade and America has turned into a pathetic trembling mass of idiots that think it is better to be feared than loved...While at the same time trembling in fear at the thought of someone having a bottle of shampoo on an airplane...Not to even mention the fact that we are burning up our grandchildrens money faster than snow would melt in hell.

20. Eight and a half years passed between WTC bombings 1 and 2.
I guess Bill Clinton did a damn good job of stopping al Qaeda attacks on the homeland, eh?!!

After the dickweed melts point out that the terrists are the deciders of what they do and when. They know they're going to die in an attack anyway so why would they fear getting caught trying to stage one if that's what THEY decided to do (with Allah watching over them!)?

21. Wasn't the DC sniper a terrorist? How about all those neo-nazi groups?
I think there have been at least 30 incidents with them in the last 5-6 years - and, there would probably have been more arrests in those categories if Team Bush hadn't been so friendly to those types.

25. Aside from that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the show?
What a ridiculous statement to make! Aside from the largest domestic terrorist attack ever, this admin has done pretty well with regards to terrorism. Of course, there is the anthrax as other posters have mentioned. Then again, more than 3000 people died in that attack. That's more than 3000 people dead due to domestic terrorism that Bush failed to prevent. Ask them how many people died due to domestic terrorism under Clinton, I believe it is a few dozen. So more than 100x the people died due to domestic terrorism under Bush than Clinton. That's a pretty fucking horrible record no matter how you spin it.

The terrorists have only got 4000 of them so far.
