Political Vandalism 2008

Here we go again.

Just a little background.

20 or so years of politics and we never experienced and political sabotage during an election cycle.

That all changed in the summer of 2004. Our yard signs kept disappearing off of our front lawn. This happened three times. My car had Democratic bumper stickers on it, including my favorite, Democratic Underground. We were in Maple Grove visiting a friend, and our car was egged. Then in October, someone went around Dinkytown (where I lived at that time) and wrote FAGs in the snow of the windows of 30 cars or so, including mine.

After that, everything was quiet until 2006, when I got in an argument with the friend of my right wing neighbor. He shot the back of my van.





Nothing happened since, although we have always had political yard signs and bumpers. No right wing idiot is going to cause me to censor my political views. That was up until this Friday, when I woke up to this.





Here we go again! I am so tired of Leadership that encourages people to do this. I have an Aunt on the right, 70 something years old, who was born wealthy and always has been, and she thinks it's just great that someone did that to my car.

She's A GROWN WOMAN, and a relative, even. I have never done anything to her to deserve that, other than have a different opinion about politics. Well so be it, if having a Barack Obama sticker on my car is something some people cannot fathom, that's fine, but it's not my problem, it's theirs. I will not back down, or hide my car, or take down our yard signs.

This time I'm taking action, I'm not dealing with another Summer of insane people who think vandalizing me is justified because I'm a Democrat.

For about 80 bucks I secured the garage area.

Here's my car parked where the mustard was sprayed on it.



I put up motion detector lights and an infrared cam. You can get the cam kit at Home Depot for about 50 bucks, including 100' of cable for it.





That's connected to a VCR and monitor so I can record what's going on.



I'll do this in the front yard too, and you better believe, this time I'll catch something, someone vandalizing us again. As soon as I do, the tape goes straight to the web, the local TV stations, and the police.

It's time we win and get control of our Country back from the control of the insane emotionally driven, lied too Republican idiots who think that they are changing hearts and minds by vandalizing people. I don't care if it's Obama, Edwards, or Hillary. We have to win this time, because the direction of our Country is so terribly wrong. The stakes are actually very very high.

Change isn't just a slogan, it works hand in hand with Hope. Without change, I have little hope for America.

how to turn it into a clip that can be put on the internet.

3. I agree, I also throw a few bucks Franken's way because we need

that man in the senate. I live in Michigan but that jewel will benefit the whole country. And bring back some decency to politics.

5. I just booby-trap my signs.

Rubbing poison ivy leaves onto the sign's metal legs is a favorite. The signs stop getting stolen after the first 2 or so.
