U.S. imports from China
UPDATED: 10 :40 a.m. EDT, January 13, 2008

The United States imported $288 billion in goods from China in 2006, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Here are the general classifications:

$132 billion - Machinery and transport equipment
$104 billion - Misc. manufactured articles
$36 billion - Manufactured goods classified chiefly by material
$6 billion - Chemicals and related products
$4 billion - Food & live animals
$3 billion - Commodities and other transactions
$1 billion - Crude materials, except fuels
$1 billion - Mineral fuels, lubricants and related
$38 million - Beverages & tobacco
$23 million - Animal & vegetable oils, fats, waxes

Apparently we imported 258,950 and paid $8,493,915?
